耶穌我主榮耀王，

Jesus is my King all-glorious, so wide, so deep His love;

在遠山聳立著古老的十字架，
作為羞辱、痛苦標誌；
我愛這十字架，因主離榮耀家，
來在上面替人受死。

古老的十字架，不少人很輕視，
對我卻有奇妙吸力；

對主的棄絕與救主的高舉

The Rejection of the Lord and the Exaltation of the Savior

a.邪惡的定罪與十架的背負
The Condemnation of Evil and the Carrying of the Cross
15他們喊著說：「除掉他！除掉他！釘他在十字架上！」彼拉多說：「我可以把你們的王釘十字架嗎？」祭司長回答說：「除了凱撒，我們沒有王。」
16於是彼拉多將耶穌交給他們去釘十字架。
17他們就把耶穌帶了去。耶穌背著自己的十字架出來，到了一個地方，名叫「髑髏地」，希伯來話叫各各他。

他被藐視，被人厭棄；多受痛苦，常經憂患。他被藐視，好像被人掩面不看的一樣；我們也不尊重他。（以賽亞書 Isaiah 53:3）
He was despised and rejected by mankind, a man of suffering, and familiar with pain. Like one from whom people hide their faces he was despised, and we held him in low esteem.

耶穌對門徒說：若有人要跟從我，就當捨己，背起他的十字架來跟從我。（馬太福音 Matthew 16:24）
Then Jesus said to his disciples, "Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross and follow me.

你們若因行善受苦，能忍耐，這在神看是可喜愛的。你們蒙召原是為此；因基督也為你們受過苦，給你們留下榜樣，叫你們跟隨他的腳蹤行。（彼得前書 1 Peter 2:20,21）
But if you suffer for doing good and you endure it, this is commendable before God. To this you were called, because Christ suffered for you, leaving you an example, that you should follow in his steps.

b.汙衊的羞辱與王權的宣告
The humiliation of slander and the declaration of royal authority
18他們就在那裡釘他在十字架上，還有兩個人和他一同釘著，一邊一個，耶穌在中間。
19彼拉多又用牌子寫了一個名號，安在十字架上，寫的是：「猶太人的王，拿撒勒人耶穌。」
20有許多猶太人念這名號；因為耶穌被釘十字架的地方與城相近，並且是用希伯來、羅馬、希臘三樣文字寫的。

因受欺壓和審判，他被奪去，至於他同世的人，誰想他受鞭打、從活人之地被剪除，是因我百姓的罪過呢？（以賽亞書 Isaiah 53:8）
By oppression and judgment he was taken away. Yet who of his generation protested? For he was cut off from the land of the living; for the transgression of my people he was punished.

基督既為我們成了咒詛，就贖出我們脫離律法的咒詛；因為經上記著：凡掛在木頭上都是被咒詛的。（加拉太書 3:13）
Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law by becoming a curse for us, for it is written: "Cursed is everyone who is hung on a pole."

c.宗教的棄絕與政治的反證
The rejection of religion and the counterevidence of politic
21猶太人的祭司長就對彼拉多說：「不要寫『猶太人的王』，要寫『他自己說：我是猶太人的王。』」
22彼拉多說：「我所寫的，我已經寫上了。」

洪水氾濫之時，耶和華坐著為王；耶和華坐著為王，直到永遠。（詩篇 29:10）
The Lord sits enthroned over the flood; the Lord is enthroned as King forever.

叫一切在天上的、地上的和地底下的，因耶穌的名無不屈膝，無不口稱耶穌基督為主，使榮耀歸於父神。（腓立比書 2:10,11）
that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue acknowledge that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

19. 彼拉多又用牌子寫了一個名號 猶太人的王 拿撒勒人耶穌
Pilate had a notice…It read: Jesus of nazareth, the king of the jews.
