Hymn: Joy to the world
1.
Joy to the world, the Lord is come! Let earth receive her King; Let every heart prepare him room, And heaven and nature sing And heaven and nature sing And heaven, and heaven and nature sing. 2. Joy to the world, The Savior reigns Let men their songs employ; While fields and floods, rocks, hills, and plains Repeat the sounding joy Repeat the sounding joy Repeat, repeat the sounding joy. 3. No more let sins and sorrows grow, Nor thorns infest the ground; He comes to make His blessings flow Far as the curse is found, Far as the curse is found, Far as, far as, the curse is found. 4. He rules the world with truth and grace, And makes the nations prove The glories of His righteousness, And wonders of His love, And wonders of His love, And wonders, wonders, of His love. |

The acceptance of Joyful heart and the rejection of evil heart |
a. The appreciation of true knowledge and the contempt of ignorance |
But you Bethlehem, in the land of Judah, are by no means least among the rulers of Judah; for out of you will come a ruler who will shepherd my people Israel.
He grew up before him like a tender shoot, and like a root out of dry ground. He had no beauty or majesty to attract us to him, nothing in his appearance that we should desire him…He was despised, and we esteemed Him not.…
I say to the Lord, "You are my Lord; apart from you I have no good thing." I say of the holy people who are in the land, "They are the noble ones in whom is all my delight."
and even though my illness was a trial to you, you did not treat me with contempt or scorn. Instead, you welcomed me as if I were an angel of God, as if I were Christ Jesus himself.
b. The seeking of the Love and the Warning of the Savior |
Let the morning bring me word of your unfailing love, for I have put my trust in you. Show me the way I should go, for to you I entrust my life.
Therefore, my brothers and sisters, you whom I love and long for, my joy and crown, stand firm in the Lord in this way, dear friends!
Because of the increase of wickedness, the love of most will grow cold, But the one who perseveres to the end will be saved.
c. The cheating of the evil one and the deception of greed |
Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name, your kingdom come, your will be done on earth, as it is in heaven. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one.
The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.
For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also. "The eye is the lamp of the body. If your eyes are healthy, your whole body will be full of light.
For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil. Some people, eager for money, have wandered from the faith and pierced themselves with many griefs.
The Son of Man will send out his angels, and they will weed out of his kingdom everything that causes sin and all who do evil. and throw them into the blazing furnace, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth. Then the righteous will shine forth like the sun in the kingdom of their Father.
but each person is tempted when they are dragged away by their own evil desire and enticed.
Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it.
Very truly I tell you, whoever accepts anyone I send accepts me; and whoever accepts me accepts the one who sent me.
20 | Very truly I tell you, whoever accepts anyone I send accepts me; and whoever accepts me accepts the one who sent me." |
21 | After he had said this, Jesus was troubled in spirit and testified, "Very truly I tell you, one of you is going to betray me." |
22 | His disciples stared at one another, at a loss to know which of them he meant. |
23 | One of them, the disciple whom Jesus loved, was reclining next to him. |
24 | Simon Peter motioned to this disciple and said, "Ask him which one he means." |
25 | Leaning back against Jesus, he asked him, "Lord, who is it?" |
26 | Jesus answered, "It is the one to whom I will give this piece of bread when I have dipped it in the dish." Then, dipping the piece of bread, he gave it to Judas, the son of Simon Iscariot. |
27 | As soon as Judas took the bread, Satan entered into him. So Jesus told him, "What you are about to do, do quickly." |
28 | But no one at the meal understood why Jesus said this to him. |
29 | Since Judas had charge of the money, some thought Jesus was telling him to buy what was needed for the festival, or to give something to the poor. |
30 | As soon as Judas had taken the bread, he went out. And it was night. Jesus Predicts Peter's Denial |
31 | When he was gone, Jesus said, "Now the Son of Man is glorified and God is glorified in him. |
32 | If God is glorified in him,[c] God will glorify the Son in himself, and will glorify him at once. |
33 | "My children, I will be with you only a little longer. You will look for me, and just as I told the Jews, so I tell you now: Where I am going, you cannot come. |
34 | "A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. |
35 | By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another." |
36 | Simon Peter asked him, "Lord, where are you going?" Jesus replied, "Where I am going, you cannot follow now, but you will follow later." |
37 | Peter asked, "Lord, why can't I follow you now? I will lay down my life for you." |
38 | Then Jesus answered, "Will you really lay down your life for me? Very truly I tell you, before the rooster crows, you will disown me three times! |
